In this activity, students folded paper to experiment which shape would hold the most weight. Overall the purpose was to practice using the scientific method in order to find the answer to a question, as well as to jumpstart our new math chapter on geometry. Working in groups, the class collected and organized data to compare different shapes’ ability to hold weight.
