Seed and Plant Adaptations

Central Idea: Life depends on the ability to adapt.

Transdisciplinary Theme: How the World Works

We have been learning about seed and plant adaptations.  After seeing several different kinds of seed adaptations, small groups were challenged to act several of them out.

As a way to explore plant adaptations, we sorted pictures of plants from different environments.  What similarities and differences do we see in all the desert plants and rainforest plants?  How do these adaptations help the plant survive? We can’t wait for our field trip to Franklin Part Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on October 12th!

We investigated cattails.  How is a cattail designed to survive in a wetland environment?
