Along with solar and hydroelectric power, wind power is a renewable source of energy. Renewable energy is able to be replaced easily once it is used. On Friday, students put together miniature windmills and tested them outside.
This activity challenged them not only to work together, but also to pay attention to non-fiction text features in directions. In books, authors often include features such as photographs, diagrams, charts, captions, etc. in order to explain a concept better. Written directions are no different. The text features are just as informative as the text itself.
