Transdisciplinary Theme: Sharing the Planet
Because fifth grade is studying the balance of biodiversity and third grade is exploring water as an important resource, we joined forces at South Park last week. 5th graders helped third graders conduct stream monitoring tests in order to see how healthy the stream was. They tested the speed of the current, turbidity (clarity of the water), number and type of aquatic organisms found, and water temperature.
