We began our new unit this week! Before knowing the next central idea, students spent time scratching the surface of the major ideas that we will be studying. On Thursday, we took a hike with the intention of looking for clues about what Discovery’s woods possibly looked like 50 to 100 years ago. Later on Friday, they created posters explaining their predictions. They also included what they thought the consequences were (both good and bad) of the school being built in this area. How did that affect the woods?
