Throughout the year, students practice open-response tasks in math. In addition to solving the specific math problem, students are also challenged to be good communicators in their writing and in their discussions. Each student shares their work with several small groups. By having these discussions, they have the opportunity to share ideas, give suggestions respectfully, give compliments, ask questions, and explain their thinking. It has been great seeing these skills improve throughout this year!
