Central Idea: Collaboration balances communities.
Transdisciplinary Theme: How We Organize Ourselves
Because we are learning about how collaboration balances communities, we invited a special guest to help us learn about how to school makes decisions. Margaret Black, one of the co-founders of Discovery School, came to answer some of our questions. Some of the students’ questions were…
- Why did this school get started?
- How do you decided the right solution when there is a problem?
- How does the board work together?
- Who are the different groups that make decisions at our school?
We learned a lot! Thanks, Mrs. Black!
During math, we frequently use math centers as a way to differentiate instruction. While some students are working with me, others are practicing different math concepts through games and other independent activities.
